I want to import text from Excel and use the text as part of a condition for If-Else decision.  This text is not placed into any web page field.  I just want to grab the text and make a decision based on its content.

Is there a way to do this?

For example:
If (the imported Excel text = a specific value) then
   Execute TestAsStep1
else
   Execute TestAsStep2

Hi, I am trying to run test lists om remote machine with Test Studio RunTime edition.
On the same machine, i have scheduling server, storage server, execution machine, project, connected to git.

in order to start my tests. I have a .bat file, that runs Telerik.TestStudio.CommandLineClient.exe -l <path to test list> -u<scheduled server name>
But when I start running test list, I got this messages:
Check whether to compile project
Starting to build job
Job built, Starting Upload to storage
Upload Complete- Queueing job on scheduler
Telerik.TestStudio.Services.Common.Exceptions.SourceControlNotReachableException
: Unable to reach source control server at:<path to git>

Can I turn off this attempt to get latest file version from git?

We had a test fail last night, a wait for visible check which used to pass reliably stopped working.  The issue doesn't appear to be timing related, the failure is now very repeatable.  It is confusing because the button visually doesn't look any different today than yesterday - it is very visible.

Using the Test Studio tools, I don't see any style specific information - if I use IE developer tools, there *may* be a difference in the styles, but it is really difficult to tell, nothing obvious pops out.

Can anybody offer tips on how Test Studio calculates the "visible" check?  Checking for visible is something we tend to use a lot to pace the tests.

Hi,

Somehow my test step properties tab went missing. I can only see 'Step Builder' and 'TeamPulse' in my right pane.

Is there a way to bring it back?

Thanks

Hello,

In ALM context, i need to build, deploy, and run the installer of my WPF application before i launch test studio automated test lists on my application:

To do this, is there a better way than :

- create a different test sutdio project for the installer

- Detect if my application is already installed (Uninstall or Install)

- Execute the automated unistall/install process

- Execute the automated test lists for my WPF app.

Or, does Telerik Test Studio have a built-in feature to test a WPF app with its installer ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards.

Arnaud
